Determination

This picture began circulating the web in early October 2010 was taken by Duke Wypyszinski at Yellowstone National Park; The one with Old Faithful. I felt like a motivational theme was appropriate for a picture like this one.
This picture reminds me of a lot of things, 1. Bison are really big, I kind of forget they are still around. People should raise more of those. 2. Bears are still awesome, whether Yogi the bear the old Hannah Barbara character from cartoons on before I was born. Or kick ass bears that maul everything it can, because it can. 3. Who comes up with these standards on ethical killings of table food animals (Chicken, Cows, Pig, Duck). The food chain looks pretty painful in this picture, and your tax dollars helped sponsor this picture. 4. That bear looks hungry and he just ate.

DirtyRice DJ N.O.S.

New Mix Week 51

From Houston’s north side Dj Naturally Obtained Skillz, or Dj N.O.S. for short, jumped on his first set of turntables in 1997. Since 1999, he has been some of Houston’s most popular venues to date. His distinct style of scratching, live remixing and blending classic party anthems that spans over multiple genres from Electronic, Hip-hop, 80s, Pop and Classic Rock makes him a top self performer.
Dj N.O.S. is predominately known for his turntable-listic style of scratching, juggling and seamless mixing that demands attention. No matter what the genre. He often times even combines genres through live remixing and mash ups. As times continue to change Dj N.O.S. adapts as well adding to video mixing to his live performances.
N.O.S. still resides in Houston TX, but has entertained across the country. In Atlanta, Florida, NYC, Virginia, San Francisco just to name a few. He has also shared the stage with Outkast, Jagged Edge, Richard Vission, Felix Da Housecat and others. He also caught the attention of Nordstrom and Lucky Strike Lanes, and dj companies like Audio Innovate, and American Audio.
Even though some has never seen N.O.S. perform live, his mixing continues to reach thousands with his online radio and downloadable podcasts. his influence doesn’t just stop at the speakers either, Dj N.O.S. input has helped with the design of the infamous Innofader, and various products from American Audio.
After more then a decade of entertaining the masses, Dj N.O.S. continues to live up to his name and continues to blaze up dance floors nationwide. Making him one of Houston’s most respected and most sought after djs. Be one the look cause he may be in a venue near you very soon.

sITck Figures?

The website XXL Magazine Online in their article somewhere on their site but i cant find now, pointed out an interesting trend in advertising from media companies taking an apparent budget cut. Cd covers that look like they are made by children in their first computer graphic classes, and commercials that have a similar look to it.

http://www.amazon.com/Donnie-G-Gorilla-Sheek-Louch/dp/B0042LLPTI
http://www.amazon.com/Reggie-Redman/dp/B002UK6DXG
Does anyone remember The Doc's My Name Mascot?
If this album art originated from a start up label, i would completely except these cd covers as legitamate. Maybe its because people don't buy actual physical CD's anymore, they use Itunes or Amazon to acquire their favorite EP or LP. Their was I time in where not only did I buy the CD for the music but, I would buy it for the entire case the cd cover and credits. At the time my only source for upcoming music was the Source magazine and 97.9 the Box out of Houston.
To encourage people to purchase albums these record labels should go bigger in their artistic expression, not smaller by reducing the art budget. Do you remember growing up and everyone had a friend whose room was just covered in rap poster and album art. People don't do that anymore maybe technology and personal computers share most of the blame. Why don't record labels include posters with online purchase of music that about the size of a traditional vinyl record cover; People would have something to collect along with the music. People would love to have the Kanye Album art in a bigger format, I personally dont like it all. I do feel that it does help give additional insight to his music on his new album My Dark Twisted Fantasy.
Festival Jam Bands such as the String Cheese Incident has figured out this strategy, by producing limited quantity festival art for every show they perform. Their fans don't get angry about having to pay extra for these pieces, they have come to expect it and are gladly willing to pay for the opportunity to acquire these pieces.

Think of the Iconic rap album covers  Notorious B.I.G. 'Ready to Die' EPMD 'Back to Business' that remain ingrained to the Hip Hop culture their presentations consistently being reused.  You can look at Jay-Z Vol 1 - 3 being reused by Lil' Wayne, for an example if you need one to convey this point.  People especially in this generation are by all educational theorist accounts visual learners, why is it that marketers believer the consumers only respond to auditory messages?
While watching Television i came across another traditional organization by all American standards commercial for an upcoming performance and I was surprised by the same lack of production value in their advertisement.

Stick Figures? Really Stick Figures? First you get rid of the Rock, then you lose your WWF name to some pandas, then you let a McMahon run for a senate seat, and now stick figure commercials. I guess this happens when a campaign cost $50 million.

Block Head Series

A picture says a thousand words yet eyes can tell you alot about a persons soul. Who are we to judge the souls of others, do the eyes change the picture. Or only the characters that are interacting with the scene.

The Next-Ex series

When writing for MFP we ultimately ran into the discussion on American Marriage a couple of times, leading us to conclude that marriage is often a false facade. Leaving many people to search for their next-ex. Who can fulfill the role of companionship for the immediate future. Leading to the development of the Next-Ex Series. Using Larry King and Elizabeth Taylor as the focus on these pieces.

Supporter, welcome.

Supporter,
Welcome to the journey on the road of life. I envision LISNN publishing as an aggressive brand with a distinct identity and a diverse product offering within an unique well established marketplace. LISNN will be a publishing house initially,  and plans for growth to a multi platform entertainment network that can support independent artist in their artistic expression, when the time is right. The LISNN publishing family plans to do this by offering unique interpretations on everyday existence through the use of literature, art, and music.
